Some more earrings

This was my first time ever making clay earrings.  My Mom ordered a pair of yellow rose earrings and I saw a youtube video on how to make a flower.. So I did my best with some oven bake clay- which was terribly stubborn to work with and crumbled easily.  Needless to say making 2 look even remotely the same was out of the question after attempt number 10 failed.  So I figured: No two flowers are exactly the same. (Certainly not these ones!)  But when you stick them in your ear- when they are not right next to each other, they just look like a couple of yellow rose earrings.

So now I think I will be making my mess ups into rings, they should really stand out on their own, and they are pretty cute of your finger!

My Aunt ordered some feather earrings from me and these pictures don't do them justice (You should see them in her ear, so cute).. Here they are:

Maybe one of these days I will get better lighting in my house, and build some backgrounds for my photos.  But until then....

A Make-Up Bag

My Didter requested a make-up bag made by yours truly.  The first one I made months ago never really agreed with me (so I took it apart after I made this one).  I found these place mats at goodwill outlet and thought it would make a cute bag.  So I sewed up the sides, added a zipper....

And she became my Didter's make up bag.
Cost me less than $2.00 to make, the zipper being the most expensive at $1.something0.
The place mats probably only cost me a few cents.
Not too shabby.

Thanks

I am famous!  Just Kidding.  But I like how my name is on these websites, thought I would share with you!

Here's what the video wall looks like normally.  We are the ones sitting in the back right of the screen.. the tiny bumps there.

Here are my stars from the film:

We were at the City Garden for the premier.  First ones there, about a 1/2 hour early but we got great parking seems how there was a crowd..for the cardinals game :).

My Mom ready for action, she is so cute!

Here is the big turn out haha.

The friends and family who came out to support me! Meant A LOT!

They couldn't contain their excitement!

The night crew!  I think the screaming children and the drum line really enhanced the night showing.  (At least the drum line stopped before my film)

This is me before the showing started!

And this is how it began:

Then fast forward 7 films or so and you have this one!

Yay!

                                                                      Very exciting!

It plays through June so check it out if you can.  Would love to hear your thoughts on the other films.  First place film is amazing and that makes me happy.  3rd place was very deserving as well and made it into my favorites, along with one or two Honorable Mentions.  Very fun evening with my family and friends.   Thank you so much for those who came to support me/ do support me!  Love you

My next post is the film!

Because they do...

This is what I silk screened for my lax girls this year.  After bonding with Alpha Wom this became our theme for the year.  Alpha Wom gave us this sad statistic:
90% of sports media; including players, coaches, refs, announcers etc. are male.
Dog sports and horse sports get more air time than female sports.

 Hence : GIRL SPORTS MATTER

I feel proud walking around in this shirt and will soon be posting them on my etsy site for the world to purchase.  Part of the proceeds will then be donated to the non- profit organization : Alpha Wom

Love you Alpha Woms
and thanks for all you do!

Thanks

The shirts will be $15.00 and $5.00 from every shirt will be given to Alpha Wom.
Coming soon to etsy!

A Golden Headband

I made this for one of my lacrosse girls for prom (even though she ended up not going).  It was super easy.  The golden flower applique was part of a donation by Theresa.  I cut a piece off, hot glued it to elastic, and wala, a pretty little hair piece.  I think I will be making more of these in the future because they are so cute!

Thanks!

A dress for the occasion.

I wanted a nice looking dress that fit me, instead of me trying to fit it...So I made this dress.
The dress was originally something that didn't even fit me and I completely cut the top off. This was reconstructed from the "skirt portion" of a dress.  I just cut the top portion into a v neckline, added an elastic belt covered by a piece of glittered black material from a shawl I cut apart.  I added lace to one side of the dress, used the bedding trim for straps.  Took a piece of felt and glued a fan shape of feathers for a more elegant and fancy appeal.   It was comfortable and some what flattering if I do say so myself, at least it should be if I pinned/and sewed it to the shape of my body.

For all the materials I would say this dress cost me about $5.00, the most expensive being the bag of feathers for $2.00.  Not too shabby for a nice dress to attend the wedding of my step brother!

Thanks!
